Cardamomo Weekly Artistic Program

Art at Cardamomo never stops. We renew our lineup weekly so you can feel the power and truth of flamenco in a show that is never repeated.

From May 11 to 17, the stage of Cardamomo burns with a program of rare intensity under the artistic direction of Paula Rodríguez Lázaro — a force of nature whose vision shapes every beat of the week.

The dance foundation is built on the commanding presence of Carmen Young, lighting up the stage from Monday to Saturday, and the explosive talent of José Escarpín, who joins from Thursday the 15th through the weekend. Vanessa Coloma brings her unmistakable depth from Wednesday to Sunday, while Claudia de Utrera opens and closes the week with raw flamenco truth — Sunday the 11th, Monday, and again on Sunday the 17th. Mariano Lozano rounds out the cast with his commanding presence from Sunday through Wednesday.

The musical spine of these nights is forged by a rotating cast of guitarists at the top of their craft: Jesuli Núñez sets the tone Sunday and Monday, Dani Yague takes over Tuesday and Wednesday, Kilino Jiménez commands Thursday, and Carlos Jiménez closes the week Friday and Saturday. The cante runs deep all week with Diego Amador and Saúl Quirós, joined by Dani Cortés on Thursday the 15th. Percussion drives the rhythm with Adam Fernández anchoring Sunday, Monday, and Thursday through Saturday, while Lolo Plantón holds the pulse on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Live music is thriving in Madrid, from classical and opera to blues, rock and jazz, but the speciality is flamenco. It may seem odd that the music of the south is so important up here, but there are two reasons for that: first, a lot of Andalusians have made their homes here, and second, any flamenco artist worth his salt wants to play the big tablaos — dinner shows — in el capital.
