Biography

Claudia Cruz was born in Cadiz in 1986, and at the early age of 5 years she began to take flamenco lessons, with more than 20 years of experience she has become one of the leading dancers in the current flamenco scene.

She currently combines her work in the main tablaos throughout Spain, especially in Madrid and Barcelona, and in the most important national and international Flamenco Festivals. Praised by the critics and admired by the public, the dancer has the respect of all her peers. Throughout her career she has collaborated with artists such as: Niña Pastori, Remedios Amaya, Rancapino, Josemi Carmona, Antonio and Juana del Pipa, Marco Flores, among others.

Claudia Cruz has a great experience teaching and is in demand both in Spain and in other countries among which are: Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, United States, Japan, Holland, Luxembourg and many more. Works for press and advertising: Collaboration with the magazine “GQ” of New York under the direction of Pedro Almodóvar sharing photographic reportage with the model Jon Kortajarena and the Spanish actresses Inma Cuesta and Adriana Ugarte. Collaboration with the prestigious jewelry firm “Carrera y Carrera”. Collaboration with “Financial Times” one of the most serious newspapers and with an extraordinary diffusion.

Her traditional and “deep” dancing makes her stand out among the current talents, bringing freshness and prestige with her way of understanding flamenco.

It can be seen in her biography that she is a particularly rich dancer with a long career that today gives much to talk about:

  • In 2001, she took part in the Carnival of Cádiz with Sara Baras in the leading role.
  • In 2003, she collaborated with the theatre company “Los Ulen” with the Monaco Ballet in the performance of “Carmen de Bizet”.
  • In 2005, she toured Japan with the show “Pasión Flamenca”, in which she performed with Enrique el Extremeño, La Tobala, Pedro Sierra and many others. That same year, he toured with Turismo Andaluz and represented Andalusian flamenco in Europe.
  • In 2007, he took part in the Granada Flamenco Festival “Corral del Carbón” and achieved fabulous success and good reviews. The following year she participated in the company “Cádiz”, directed by the Andalusian Agency for the Development of Flamenco, sharing the stage with artists such as Mariana Cornejo, David Palomar, El Junco, Ana Salazar, Rosario Toledo and many others.
  • In 2009 he presented his first exhibition “Con Alma” at the Sala Central Lechera in Cadiz, with Enrique el Extremeño as guest artist at provincial level.
  • In 2011, she toured as a guest artist in the exhibition “Niña Pastori en Navidad”. It was the first time Niña Pastori included a dance figure in her show.
  • In 2012, she joined the company of Antonio “El Pipa” as principal dancer and dance partner. That same year she presented her show “Claudia Cruz”, with which she opened the programme for the celebrations of the bicentenary of the Cortes de Cádiz. She is a guest artist in the show “Ayer y Hoy” with the maestro “Rancapino” as the main character. She participates in the show “La Pepa” in the Carnival of Cadiz with Niña Pastori in the leading role. She is first dancer of the cycles “La Aristocracia del Flamenco” in the Tablao Cordobés and collaborates with personalities such as Duquende, Carrete de Málaga, Remedios Amaya and La Susi.
  • In 2013 she was a soloist dancer in the show “Jeregüeño” by Antonio el Pipa at the Malaga Flamenco Biennial, and that same year she participated in the multicultural festival “Art Unites Generations” in Wroclaw, Poland. Later she was a soloist dancer in the show “Vivencias” by Antonio el Pipa with Tía Juana del Pipa, Concha Vargas and Carmen Ledesma. She also participated in the show “En la Raíz del Flamenco”, premiered in the Lope de Vega theatre in Seville with artists such as “Dorantes”, Remedio Amaya, Farruquito, Cañeta de Málaga and others.

  • In 2014 she participated in the III Festival de Flamenco de Japón and shared the stage with artists such as Pastora Galván, Mercedes Ruiz, La Moneta, Patricia Guerrero, Jairo Barrul, Jesús Carmona and others. That same year he presented his show “Ni la hambre la vamo a sentí” at the Centro Munincipal de Arte Flamenco La Merced, promoted by the Cádiz City Council.
  • In 2015 he premiered his own show “Cádiz – Sevilla, Qué Maravilla” at the XIX edition of the Festival de Jerez.
  • In 2016 he participated in the show “Entrar al Juego” by Marco Flores, premiered at the 20th edition of the Festival de Jerez. He also collaborated with Josemi Carmona, member of the famous group Ketama

It is clear from her biography that she is a particularly good dancer. with a long career that is much talked about today.
