Paula Moreno

Bailaora (Dancer)

A dancer from Cádiz with a lot of grit.

Paula Moreno was born in San Fernando, land of great artists such as Camarón de la Isla. She began her training in flamenco dance at a very young age, surrounded by a flamenco atmosphere. Since the age of 12 she has been learning with the best teachers in the academy Chiqui de Jerez, falling in love with flamenco. She has received master classes from great artists such as Belen López, Juan Amaya El Pelón, Pastora Galván, Farruquito, Marco Flores, Claudia Cruz, Marina Valiente, Fuensanta La Moneta…

At the age of 16 she began her professional career, performing as a regular dancer in the flamenco clubs of Cadiz and San Fernando such as the tablao “La Cava”.

Paula Moreno stands out because of her elegance and strength.

We can highlight different shows in which she has participated: “Tributo a la voz del tiempo” presented at the Real Teatro de Las Cortes in her homeland San Fernando. She has won several prizes at national and provincial level:

  • First Prize in the National Competition of Hispalis.
  • Second Prize tanguillos in “Peña La Perla de Cádiz”.
  • First Prize tanguillos in “La Peña Camarón de la Isla”.
  • Finalist in the National Contest of Alegrías in the province of Cádiz.
  • Second Prize in the I Flamenco Dance Contest in the Plaza de Toros de San Fernando.
  • First Prize Peña de Ubrique.

We would like to highlight her role as a bailaora and repetitionist in the company “Entre Salinas y Esteros”, starring and directed by the bailaor Jesuli Carrillo. She is currently a dancer with the company “Resiliencia Flamenca” and “Revolución 117” directed by Producciones Carrillo.

  • Jury in the tanguillos contest organised by the Peña Camarón for two years.
  • Intermediate level at the Maribel Gallardo dance conservatory.
  • Participated in the XIl Festival de Jerez with her own show “Inefable” together with María Guerrero and Elena Arias.

She currently lives in Madrid and teaches Spanish dance and flamenco and performs in numerous tablaos in the capital.
