Aurora Losada (Madrid)
Cantaora (Sängerin)
Born in Madrid and raised in the popular district of Caño Roto, cradle of great figures of Flamenco, she is the daughter of the legendary Flamenco singer Amador de Los Chorbos. Aurora recorded her first album, Hay amor, at the age of 7, under the direction of the Dúo Dinámico. Three years later, the second álbum – Corazón de niño – was released, produced by Paco Cepero and Valerio Lázaro…
At the age of 11 her interpretation of the song El Divorcio, of Juan Antonio Jiménez, Jeró (lead vocalist of Los Chichos), Aurora ousted other famous performers, such as Francisco and María José Cantudo, and earned her recognition as the Best Performer of the festival. When she was 15 years old she released her third album – Nací para cantar- which was also produced by Jeró and boasted performances by musicians Juan Carmona and Tomatito. Groundbreaking, temperamental and charged with gypsy passion, Aurora Losada became a leading member of the generation of Young Flamenco Artists of Madrid – driven by the independent music label Nuevos Medios – along with Ketama, Pata Negra, Barbería del Sur, Martirio, Guadiana, Rey Heredia, Raimundo Amador, etc. During these years she worked on 6 albums of Jóvenes Flamencos, of which she became an icon. At the same time, she released her next album – Besos de Caramelo- with Antonio, Josemi and Juan Carmona (Ketama). Among her most recent works are Demasiado Corazón –produced and composed by Ketama- and included in the soundtrack of the feature films Demasiado Corazón (with Victoria Abril and Manuel Banderas) and Alma Gitana (with Amara Carmona). In 2013 she premiered her show Carabanchel DF, produced by José Losada and Juan Carlos Quirós, with collaborations of many artists, including Pitingo. In 2015 the Community of Madrid recognised her longstanding career by presenting her with the Arts Award as part of Enrique Maya prizes.
