Luis Miguel Manzano

Guitarist of the flamenco family "Los Pelaos".

Luis Miguel Manzano was born into a family of artists: the important saga of “Los Pelaos”. He is the grandson of the bailaor El Fati, and grandnephew of Faíco, son of the bailaora Loles Manzano and the guitarist Chuscales. He began his artistic career at the age of 16 accompanying prestigious figures such as Merche Esmeralda, Domingo Ortega, María Pagés, Rocío Molina, Charo Manzano and Aurora Losada.

Among his most outstanding teachers are Aquilino Jiménez ‘El Entri’, Manuel Parrilla and Francisco Manzano ‘El Calentito’, who gave him a defined technique and knowledge for the accompaniment of singing and dancing… He is a guitarist who gives continuity to the guitar school of the Caño Roto neighbourhood. A school whose way of understanding guitar playing is very particular to Madrid.

From a very young age he participated in international festivals such as New York, Jerez and the Japan Expo. He shared international tours with artists such as Gerardo Núñez, Manuela Carrasco, Farruquito, Israel Galván and Los Campallo.

  • He has accompanied his uncle Toni El Pelao with great success.
  • Luis Miguel has performed as lead guitarist in prestigious tablaos in Madrid and Barcelona – accompanying La Tana, Duquende, Farru, El Carpeta, Antonio Rey…
  • He has worked with his aunt, the bailaora and cantaora Charo Manzano, as well as with Manuel Parrilla, Bernardo Parrilla and Ramón at the Teatro Central in Seville, sharing the stage with Manuel Agujetas.

One of his latest outstanding collaborations has been in the show ‘Oco the Show’ produced by the Italian Pino Sagliocco.
