In the heart of Madrid, at number 15 Echegaray Street, there is a place where every night a miracle happens. A place where time stands still and only singing, guitar, and dance speak. But Cardamomo is more than a stage, more than a tablao recognized as Cultural Heritage. It is a magnet—a vibrant meeting point with such powerful magnetism that it attracts not only flamenco lovers but also the creators themselves.
When great artists are not under the spotlights of stadiums or recording studios, they seek inspiration, purity, something real. And many of them find it here.
Here’s an example of the artists who have visited us over the past year.
The Sanctuary of the Flamenco Masters
For a tablao to be truly great, it must have the respect of its own. And the stage at Cardamomo is considered sacred ground by the most important figures in flamenco. On our boards, they have not only performed as artists but have also returned as an audience, to feel and reconnect. Names that are living history of flamenco, such as Farruquito, the legendary Ketama family, the unclassifiable artistry of Tomasito, or the revolutionary Joaquín Cortés, have shared the intimacy of our space.
More recently, the new wave of geniuses such as María José Llergo, who takes flamenco to new frontiers, has found a home here. They come because they know that here, the roots are respected and the duende is celebrated without artifices.
The Open Secret of Global Stars
But what makes Cardamomo a unique cultural meeting point is how its influence transcends genres and borders. Flamenco, in its purest form, is a universal force that inspires musicians of all styles. And when they want to drink from that source, they come to us.
In our seats, almost incognito, icons of world music have passed through in search of that truth. Only during this last year (2025) we had the honor of welcoming the sensitivity of C. Tangana, who understands and loves flamenco’s roots. We have been the Madrid refuge for rock legends such as Fito Páez or members of Maná. The immense talent of Pablo Lescano, leader of Damas Gratis, has vibrated with our palmas, Michel Franco and his father, and global idol Peso Pluma have witnessed the power of a zapateado up close. Even the iconic Lucía Galán of Pimpinela has come to be moved by the passion of our singing.
What Are They All Looking For?
They don’t come for a simple show. They come for an encounter. They come in search of what cannot be recorded in a studio or manufactured with technology: the shiver that runs through the room in silence, the held breath before a zapateado, the truth that breaks in the throat.
For one night, the global star and the anonymous fan are the same. The “olé” that escapes is identical because it comes from the same place: pure emotion. Here, art strips away their disguises.
And This Encounter Is Also Yours
What defines the soul of Cardamomo is that crossroads, that miracle where the rocker and the flamenco singer drink from the same thirst for truth. This cannot be planned or imitated. It is the mark left by decades of loyalty to one thing: authenticity.
The next time you sit in Cardamomo, look around you. You are not only in the best flamenco tablao in Madrid. You are in a meeting point, a space revered by both artists and anonymous fans, where the seat next to you might have been occupied by a legend.
We don’t just invite you to watch a show. We invite you to take your place at Madrid’s most vibrant cultural crossroads.
