Luisa Muñoz

Cantaora (Singer)

Luisa Muñoz

Luisa Muñoz, a gypsy cantaora born in Montpellier (France), has a very important family background: she belongs to “Los Montoya”, one of the lineages that has given more artists to the world of flamenco, such as her aunt Antonia “La Negra” or her cousins Lole and Angelita Montoya.

She began to work as a cantaora naturally in the peñas and shows with her family around France. At the age of 24 she moved to Malaga and began to form part of the company of the dancer Antonio de Verónica.

She quickly began to be sought after by the main local flamenco peñas (Juan Breva, El Piyayo, etc.) and became increasingly recognised throughout the province, performing in the main peñas, tablaos and festivals in Malaga.

Luisa Muñoz, a versatile singer.

She is an artist with an extensive and versatile repertoire, who masters singing as an accompanist and soloist.
