25th Anniversary of Cardamomo Tablao Flamenco • Cardamomo Scholarships
Cardamomo Tablao Flamenco celebrates 25 Years dedicated to Flamenco Art and celebrates it in a very special way: First Cardamomo Scholarship Show. Antonio Carmona, Antonio Canales, Juan Andrés Maya and the children participating in Cardamomo Scholarships, protagonists of the 25th Anniversary of the tablao Flamenco. Coinciding with International Flamenco Day, Cardamomo tablao Flamenco celebrated twenty-five years dedicated to flamenco art (1994-2019) in a very special way. The celebration took place in the flamenco tablao with a performance starring the boys and girls who received scholarships from our solidarity project BECAS CARDAMOMO. The teachers Antonio Carmona, Antonio Canales and Juan Andrés Maya attended. Committed to the project, they advised and encouraged the children to continue training to preserve the legacy of Flamenco art. An unforgettable event in which children and adults enjoyed their common passion: Flamenco.
The news was echoed by many media outlets, as the talent shown by the scholarship boys and girls during the performance was impressive. The Cardamomo Scholarships is a solidarity initiative that aims to help the training of future flamenco artists, as well as the creation of new fans, favoring the development of flamenco culture. They are intended for boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 16 who are developing some artistic ability (dance, sing or touch). The scholarship boys and girls receive instruments, costumes and masterclasses taught by professionals. In addition to the possibility of participating in an end of the show party, which allows them to gain experience and learn from established artists. With the Cardamomo Scholarships we intend to promote the integration of the promises of Flamenco art, and break the exclusion suffered by this art.
We consider it essential to start Flamenco training from an early age. There are already more than twenty boys and girls who have received scholarships. The initiative has had an excellent reception in Madrid and other cities such as Jerez, Córdoba or Granada. To participate, the minor’s parents or guardians must send a video to comunicacion@cardamomo.com in which the child shows his artistic ability related to flamenco: Singing, dancing, guitar and / or percussion. Cardamom Scholarships are tailored to particular needs and circumstances. The Cardamomo team studies each case in depth, always acting for the benefit of the child with a scholarship. All the artists agree, “The talent, the art and the elf they have found is spectacular.” Cardamomo Tablao Flamenco programs renewed live shows with flamenco paintings by up to 10 artists on stage. Masters of the Spanish guitar and percussion, prestigious singers, dancers and female dancers daily capture the enthusiasm of the public with the excellence of their flamenco passion. It is the only flamenco tablao in Madrid recommended by The New York Times.
