David Jiménez belongs to the Caño Roto style of guitar playing and defends its legacy. Both his parents were dedicated to dance: his father, El Tupé, and his mother, the great bailaora La Cuatro, were very well known figures in the tablaos of Madrid. He is influenced by his older brother “El Viejín”, his teacher, and also by his brother Juan Jiménez. David Jiménez has worked with artists of the stature of Antonio Canales, Joaquín Cortés, Diego “El Cigala”, Montse Cortés, Antonio Suárez “Guadiana”, Ramón “El Portugués” and others.

Sharing flamenco with great figures has been a daily experience since his childhood and, possibly, has marked his natural ability to articulate technique and musicality with his flamenco temperament. His uncles and cousins, guitarists also, have been a reference in his passion for the guitar. Among his appearances on television, his collaboration as a solo guitarist on the Spanish television programme Flamenco para tus Ojos (Flamenco for your Eyes) stands out.

Author of great guitar compositions, he has received the Award for Best Composition as a soloist.
