\nCurro de Candela is the youngest representative of the dynasty of artists initiated by Jos\u00e9 Greco. A multifaceted artist who trained in classical, flamenco and contemporary dance at the hand of prestigious teachers.<\/p>\n

At seventeen, he joined Joaqu\u00edn Cort\u00e9s\u2019 company and continued his training in classical and contemporary dance. Two years later, he starts dancing in Madrid\u2019s best flamenco tablaos until Antonio Reyes invites him to join his company as principal dancer, which takes him on tour. He has also danced as a guest artist with Mar\u00eda Juncal\u2019s flamenco dance company.<\/p>\n

The Cuban choreographer Ren\u00e9 de Cardenas invited Curro de Candela to participate in the staging of the work “Sonlar”; thus, he began arduous training with the National Ballet of Cuba that culminated, after months of intense and elaborate work, with the successful premier in Madrid, followed by a tour in Cuba. Thus, Curro spent long months on the island, continuing his training in classical and contemporary dance and getting familiar with Afro-Cuban rhythms and dances.<\/p>\n

On his return to Spain, he is invited as guest artist in Crist\u00f3bal Reyes\u2019 dance company and does for them choreographic works and musical arrangements. Shortly afterwards, he dances at the \u201cFestival de Las Minas\u201d delighting the flamenco purists.<\/p>\n

At age 22, he mounted his own flamenco show that premiered at the Casino of Aranjuez and that led him to tour Italy. Gradually he began to experiment, introducing innovative and cutting edge elements to his show until he incorporated a Cuban dancer and Afro Cuban rhythms to give life to a new show “Afrogitano” which premiered at the Beirut Casino.<\/p>\n

In 2011, he participated in the 6th Festival Suma Flamenca of Madrid, obtaining a great success among the public and the critic.
