Guillermo Campos Jim\u00e9nez, better known as “Morenito de Illora” is a gypsy singer born in Illora (Granada). Member of a gypsy family of amateurs and famous artists, living in an environment of singing and dancing. At the age of 7, he emigrated to Barcelona. This singer had the honor of working for three years with the great Flora Albaic\u00edn. He also created the group Pureza, together with Nene de Santa Fe.<\/p>\n
The nickname Morenito de \u00cdllora was given to him by Camar\u00f3n at the festival in the town of \u00cdllora in 1979. He told him to take the name of his town, and not that of Granada. “I am Camar\u00f3n de la Isla and not Camar\u00f3n de C\u00e1diz”. Morenito de \u00cdllora went on stage and embraced Camar\u00f3n, who was sponsoring him with the artistic name of Morenito de \u00cdllora. \u00a0After this epic moment, they performed together at Los Tarantos del Sacromonte, an outstanding place for artists.<\/p>\n
Morenito currently accompanies Tomatito, with whom he has been touring the world for more than fifteen years. He has performed with artists such as “Pansequito”, Camar\u00f3n himself, Manuela Carrasco, Joaqu\u00edn Cort\u00e9s, David Morales and Ram\u00f3n Porrinas among others.<\/p>\n
With a lot of style and palate, his world is of seguiriyas, tangos, buler\u00edas, canti\u00f1as, sole\u00e1 and some other free songs that he masters very easily.<\/p>\n
